Narrative Inquiry into the Real-Life Phenomena of Marginal Women Entrepreneurs
Examining grassroots empowerment barriers, informal microfinance structures, and institutional interventions for rural female entrepreneurs.

Advancing evidence-based management across planetary boundaries
The Centre for Innovation and Sustainability Research (CISR) investigates corporate decarbonisation, circular business models, and responsible technology governance through rigorous empirical field audits.
Drawing from multi-sector empirical field audits and longitudinal surveys across industrial enterprises, this milestone study provides quantitative evidence on how circular supply chain models reduce industrial carbon emissions while maintaining operating margins for manufacturing firms in emerging South Asian and European markets.
Examining grassroots empowerment barriers, informal microfinance structures, and institutional interventions for rural female entrepreneurs.
Analyzing how emerging digital enterprise tech reduces transaction frictions and accelerates sustainable development targets.
Field performance evaluation of battery storage optimization and community micro-tariff governance across coastal delta installations.

Rigorous empirical scholarship and sustainable financial architectures must serve as the primary compass for industrial decarbonisation and equitable socio-economic transformation.
Welcome to the Centre for Innovation and Sustainability Research (CISR). Our mission is rooted in a fundamental imperative: that rigorous empirical inquiry, innovative financial architectures, and sustainable policy frameworks must converge to address urgent socio-economic and environmental transitions. CISR provides an independent, open, and world-class research collective for scholars, practitioners, and global institutions dedicated to evidence-based progress.
Through our Diamond Open Access scholarly journals (CJIT and CJSS), our annual international conference series, and an empirical research repository indexing over 250 million records, CISR is committed to democratizing knowledge without author-facing paywalls or corporate bias.
Dedicated interdisciplinary labs conducting field audits, econometrics, and policy diagnostic evaluations.
Focusing on industrial reverse logistics, material flow analysis, waste-to-resource valorisation, and SME decarbonisation hurdles across South Asia.
Investigating green bond yield spreads, corporate ESG rating divergence, sustainability-linked credit instruments, and climate transition risk pricing.
Evaluating algorithmic accountability, generative AI adoption in higher education, blockchain governance, and digital public infrastructure.
Qualitative narrative inquiry and randomised community experiments on microfinance access, informal trading networks, and female business ownership.
Techno-economic modeling of off-grid solar-hybrid microgrids, industrial energy efficiency benchmarks, and delta zone vulnerability mitigation.
Fiduciary duties in climate transition, board committee ESG oversight, dynamic capability deployment, and competitive positioning in emerging markets.

This paper examines the institutional and behavioral determinants influencing the implementation of explainable artificial intelligence (XAI) and blockchain-enabled verifiable credentials across tertiary universities and municipal agencies in developing South Asian economies. Utilizing a stratified structural equation modeling (SEM) design across 412 academic administrators and ICT officers, the empirical findings reveal that technological transparency and regulatory congruence significantly mitigate algorithmic aversion, resulting in a 41.2% higher adoption readiness. Policy frameworks for ethical AI governance in public service are formulated.
Small and medium manufacturing enterprises (SMEs) face distinct capital and capability constraints during industrial digital transitions. This study investigates the mediating role of dynamic technological absorptive capacity on the relationship between Industry 4.0 investments and export performance. Drawing on empirical data from 284 export-oriented manufacturing firms, we identify modular IoT telemetry and localized ERP integration as critical inflection points yielding measurable total factor productivity gains.
Autonomous procurement algorithms and predictive inventory systems are rapidly reconfiguring global supply chains. However, unintended biases and opaque decision matrices introduce systemic operational and labor risks. This systematic literature review synthesizes 142 peer-reviewed articles to propose an integrated 5-layer Algorithmic Supply Chain Governance (ASCG) framework, establishing accountability protocols for procurement algorithms.
Rural women entrepreneurs in emerging markets operate under severe asymmetric capital access and deeply entrenched socio-cultural constraints. Through in-depth narrative inquiry and phenomenological interviews with 64 rural women enterprise founders across northwestern Bangladesh, this study theorizes how social businesses bridge institutional voids. The empirical findings reveal that peer-to-peer cooperative mentoring and digital mobile payment adoption generate a resilient buffer against debt traps, elevating household reinvestment rates by 38.6%.
Pre-consumer textile waste ("jhoot") in Bangladesh accounts for over 500,000 tonnes of discarded material annually. This paper conducts a comprehensive material flow analysis (MFA) and life-cycle assessment (LCA) across 18 textile manufacturing clusters to evaluate closed-loop mechanical recycling viability. Transitioning to localized circular industrial symbiosis reduces greenhouse gas emissions by 28.4% and creates sustainable green jobs.
